COLLEGE EXPERIENCE
2012: As a freshman, Martin logged 1,315 minutes for Wake Forest, appeared in 20 games (15 starts) of the Demon Deacons’ NCAA season that year. He scored one goal and added six assists – the most on the team - and earned selection to the All-ACC Freshman Team.
YOUTH EXPERIENCE
Martin progressed through D.C. United’s Academy system, first appearing for the U-16s during the 2009-10 US Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) season. He was the leading scorer (13 goals) for the U-16s in the 2010-11 season and then joined the U-18 squad for the 2011-12 USSDA season. Martin top scored for the U-18s (11 goals) in 2011-12, with his form earning him playing time for the club’s Reserves in the MLS Reserve League.
INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
2012: The midfielder was the only high school junior to train with the U.S. Men’s U-20 squad in January 2012, having previously represented the United States at the U-14, U-15, and U-17 levels. Martin was selected for the US U-20 national team camp in Carson, Calif., and traveled with the squad for the Toulon Tournament in France from May 28 – June 8. The US U-20s finished with one win from its four matches in the tournament, with Martin starting the side’s first game against France. He was also part of the U-20 squad that competed in the 2012 Northern Ireland Milk Cup in July 2012 and finished fourth in its group.
