Michael Seaton, just 17-years-old, made an immediate impact in D.C. United's friendly against Chivas de Guadalajara last Friday. Coming on in the 73rd minute, Seaton, with his very first touch for the DCU First Team, found Carlos Ruiz, who put the ball in the back of the net. Yesterday, the Washington Post's Soccer Insider, Steven Goff, spoke with the young, Homegrown product about his development, his stellar performances with Richmond and his future.

Collin joins five other DCU players on loan with the Kickers who are all availble for recall at any point during the season. This weekend, Martin, Shanosky and Seaton will travel with the Kickers to take on the Phoenix FC Wolves on Friday, the Los Angeles Blues on Sunday and Vancouver Whitecaps FC Reserves next Tuesday. Former D.C. United player Guy Kpene was in attendance tonight for DCU’s friendly vs. Chivas de Guadalajara. Kpene rocked the Black-and-Red from 2007-08 before making the move to the Houston Dynamo. The former United forward then went on to play for the USL PDL side, Long Island Rough Riders before making the decision to return to Dowling College and get his MBA in corporate finance.
“I finished my masters, and I’m looking for a job.” said Kpene. “I want to do finance, but I still have love for the game, so I don’t know. We will see.”
Kpene had always planned on going back to school, even while playing professionally.
“Oh, I always knew it. I was always good at school,” he said. “I knew at some point I was going to stop [playing soccer] and go to school again.”
Also spotted in the stands tonight was D.C. United legend Jaime Moreno, who is set to be inducted into United’s Hall of Tradition in September. Moreno enjoyed the match cheering along with the Barra Brava.

Last night, Joe Willis was phenomenal. He made seven outstanding saves, shutting out a hot Colorado side. He earned dcunited.com’s Spotlight for the night and much praise via Twitter. So, let’s check out what some of the DCU fans and United players had to say about their goalkeeper’s stellar performance.

Tough performance but we dug out a pt thanks to Joe Willis. 10 out of 10 performance IMO. Still need improvement. Back to DC tomorrow. #dcu

Because Joe doesn't have a Twitter, United Midfielder Kyle Porter had to resort to a hashtag.
D.C. United Defender Taylor Kemp thinks the MOTM vote is simple.
Getting out of here with a point on the road against a good team is a positive. Joe Willis hands down man of the match #dcu
