Luciano Emilio chatted live with fans today about his favorite teams and players, his new look and even his new favorite song! Check out the chat transcript below.
Thanks to everyone for coming! I want to apologize to the D.C. United fans for the incident last week. I will come back stronger than ever!
From Luciano Emilio - 1:53 pm
Do you think you'll win the Golden Boot this season?
From Jorge - 1:26 pm
I think everything's possible. Obviously after I come back from the suspension I have to get back to 100% and continue to score.
From Luciano Emilio - 1:52 pm
If you could play with any two players, from any era, who would they be?
From Oscar M. - 1:26 pm
I would love to play with Ronaldo and Kaka. To me they are the best Brazilian players in recent years.
From Luciano Emilio - 1:50 pm
How do you feel facing a global superpower like Real Madrid?
From Juan - 1:17 pm
I'm very excited about this opportunity. It's a dream to be able to play in such a big game against such a big team.
From Luciano Emilio - 1:49 pm
Do you have any advice for kids playing soccer about how to make runs off the ball? You're very good at being at the right place at the right time. How do you anticipate space and get away from defenders so well?
From OuterBanks - 1:35 pm
You have to always try to anticipate where you can find space and get the ball. I always try to look for a space where I can finish. I try to stay away from areas where there are a lot of defenders and try to find the open space.
From Luciano Emilio - 1:47 pm
We all loved your version of "Beautiful" a few years ago...any chance we can see you singing another song? What is your favorite American song right now?
From Bobby Boswell dot Com - 1:31 pm
I believe I can fly, I believe I can touch the sky, dadadadadadada dada, I believe I can show dadadada to that open door, I believe I can fly
From Luciano Emilio - 1:44 pm
If you did not play for D.C. what other M.L.S. team would you play for?
From Kevin - 1:12 pm
Probably Chivas or Chicago because they are two of the best teams. They keep the ball low and are always looking to score.
From Luciano Emilio - 1:41 pm
You've played in a number of different leagues (Brazil, Germany, Honduras, MLS). How do they compare and which was your favorite to play in?
From Ben - 1:05 pm
My favorite league was probably the Mexican league. I spent six months with Queretaro in the second division. The style of play and the tactical aspects are very similar to Brazilian soccer.
From Luciano Emilio - 1:39 pm
Who is your favorite player to play with on DCU, who do you have the most on field chemistry with?
From cgorman - 1:02 pm
I have the most on-field chemistry with with Fred and Christian Gomez. We get along well probably because of the language and the style of play.
From Luciano Emilio - 1:37 pm
Have you always played attack or did you start out at other positions until your coach figured out you were a scoring machine?
From cgorman - 1:01 pm
In professional soccer I was always a striker but as a kid I spent some time as a right midfielder.
From Luciano Emilio - 1:34 pm
Can you shed any light on your recent yellow? The announcers said you threw bottles on the field but I did not see anything on camera. What happened?
From Kevin - 12:56 pm
It was a frustrating moment for me, I was sad to come off the field. Any player likes playing the whole game and I really wanted to score so when I saw I'd be coming off I got a little frustrated. But I'm looking forward to coming back after the suspension and contribute and score goals.
From Luciano Emilio - 1:33 pm
What is your favorite Barra Brava chant?
From Matt Rose - 1:00 pm

From Luciano Emilio - 1:30 pm
Which defender in the MLS do you dislike the most? Which one has given you the hardest time verbally during a match?
From Matt Rose - 1:02 pm
I think Jamison Olave is a tough defender. He's very physical and strong. No one has ever given me a hard time verbally.

Are there any good Brazilian restaurants in D.C. that you go to?

Are you looking forward to playing against your fellow Brazilian Kaka in August? Have you met him before?
From Ben - 1:00 pm
Yes, it's very exciting because I never thought I'd have the chance to play against him. He's a very good player and was even named best in the world. Unfortunately I haven't met him yet.
