Andy Najar called up to Honduras National Team
D.C. United announced today that midfielder Andy Najar has been called up by the Honduras National Team for a November 14 friendly against Peru at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, TX at 7:30 p.m. Najar will join the Honduran Federation today.
Andy Najar suspended, fined by MLS
The Major League Soccer Disciplinary Committee today issued an additional two-game suspension and an undisclosed fine to D.C. United defender Andy Najar for his actions during the Eastern Conference Semifinal game against the New York Red Bulls on Saturday, November 3rd. Najar will be suspended for a total of three games, which includes the automatic one-game suspension for receiving a red card.
The Disciplinary Committee determined that Najar’s conduct put the League in disrepute.
United advances to Eastern Conference Finals
Following tonight’s thrilling 1-0 (2-1 aggregate) win over the New York Red Bulls, D.C. United has secured a spot in the Eastern Conference Finals and will face the Houston Dynamo in the two-game, total-goals series. United will play at BBVA Compass Stadium on Sunday, November 11 at 4:00 p.m. ET before hosting the return leg on Sunday, November 18 at 4:00 p.m. ET at RFK Stadium. Both games will be televised live to a national audience by NBC Sports Network.
D.C. United-New York Red Bulls match postponed until Thursday
Major League Soccer has postponed tonight's Eastern Conference Semifinal match between D.C. United and the New York Red Bulls due heavy snow accumulation. The second leg of the two-game, total goals series is now scheduled for Thursday at 7:30pm ET at Red Bull Arena. The game will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network and TSN2.
DATE CHANGE: DC vs New York set for November 3
In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Major League Soccer has requested second seeded D.C. United and the third seeded New York Red Bulls alternate home dates in their upcoming Eastern Conference semifinal series. United will now host the first leg Saturday, November 3 at 8:00 p.m. ET before traveling to Red Bull Arena for the return leg of the two-game, total-goal series on Wednesday, November 7 at 8:00 p.m. ET. Both matches are set to be televised to a live national audience by NBC Sports Network and aired locally via United's Spanish-language radio partner La Nueva 87.7 FM.

D.C. United clinch playoff berth
With its 3-2 win versus the Columbus Crew tonight, second place D.C. United has clinched a post-season berth for the first time in five years.

D.C. United has announced that tickets to tonight’s MLS regular season home finale against the Columbus Crew sold out, as 19,647 supporters are in attendance. Tonight’s match is being broadcast live on Comcast SportsNet.

Academy update - U-18
D.C. United’s U-18 academy squad opened up the scoring early in a 3-0 defeat of the Baltimore Bays. The first goal came just 15 minutes into the contest after Abdi Yusuf made a strong individual effort that finished with a 20-yard blast to the far post. Yusuf again scored in the 59th minute to double the lead and Michael Seaton capped off the scoring in a dominant team performance that saw United best its local rivals 3-0 at Prince George’s Community College.
