Washington, D.C. (September 17, 2013) – In the second weekend of the 2013-14 U.S. Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) season, D.C. United’s U-18, U-16 and U-14 Academy teams took on Bethesda-Olney with the U-18 team losing, the U-16 team drawing and the U-14 side coming away with a win.
D.C. United today announced that the 2013 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup final will take place at 9 p.m. ET on Oct. 1, and will be broadcast live on Gol TV. The club will face Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, UT in the championship match, the 100th edition of the domestic tournament. The winner will receive $250,000 in prize money as well as an automatic berth into the 2014-15 CONCACAF Champions League. The Black-and-Red advanced to the final round – its first appearance in this stage of the competition since 2009 – by defeating the Chicago Fire on Aug.

United announced today announced plans for five previous inductees to be on hand as legendary striker Jaime Moreno joins the Hall of Tradition, presented by Allstate Insurance, as United faces the LA Galaxy Saturday, Sept. 14 at 4:00 p.m. ET. John Harkes, Marco Etcheverry, Jeff Agoos, Eddie Pope and Ben Olsen will join Moreno for festivities throughout the afternoon and evening, including a special halftime ceremony.

Washington, D.C. (August 30, 2013) – This weekend, D.C. United will host the first Generation adidas Cup regional event of 2013, as well as the second annual D.C. United friendlies, at Morven Park in Leesburg, Va. The Generation adidas Cup will be comprised of six MLS Academy teams: D.C. United, Philadelphia Union, Montreal Impact, Columbus Crew, New York Red Bulls and Toronto FC, each with a 23-man roster of players born after 1997.
