D.C. United to travel to Real Salt Lake for final of 100th edition of Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Oct. 1
Washington D.C. (August 8, 2013) – D.C. United today announced that the club will face Real Salt Lake in the final of the 2013 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup – the domestic tournament’s 100th edition. The match will take place at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, UT on Oct. 1, and the winner will receive $250,000 in prize money as well as an automatic berth into the 2014-15 CONCACAF Champions League.

Mayor Vincent C. Gray and four-time Major League Soccer (MLS) champion D.C. United have announced the signing of a public-private partnership term sheet to build a 20,000-25,000-seat, world-class soccer stadium in the Buzzard Point area of Southwest. The new stadium, to be located adjacent to the Fort McNair Army base, will be bounded by Half Street and Second Street SW, between R and T Streets, is anticipated to be complete in time for the 2016 season.

Washington, D.C. (July 17, 2013) – D.C. United today announced the club has traded defender Brandon McDonald to Real Salt Lake in exchange for a natural third-round selection in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft and a conditional pick in 2015.
