The winning tally was scored in the 85th minute of United’s stirring 2-2 draw at Chivas USA. On the play, Rodney Wallace sent a crossing ball into the goalmouth that was punched away by Chivas USA goalkeeper Zach Thornton. The ball deflected off of Fred before Quaranta ran onto the loose ball and crushed a 30-yard shot into the far-post side netting. On the draw

It’s really disappointing, you know, we obviously made some key mistakes, and not many, but the ones that we made really cost us. It’s unacceptable; we can’t afford to do that. We can’t afford to get in a shootout at home. We were pretty much in control of the game and with one bad chance or bad giveaway, and it gives them life and energy.
