United, in conjunction with the Washington Freedom and the DC Sports and Entertainment Commission, announced today the club is set to play three double-headers with the Washington Freedom at RFK Stadium. The three Freedom games will take place on May 23, June 13 and July 18 ahead of D.C. United’s matches set for those dates.
Washington, D.C. (March 3, 2009) – D.C. United announced today the club has signed two players – midfielder Brandon Barklage and defender Anthony Peters. Barklage was originally selected in the third round (36th overall) of the 2009 MLS SuperDraft, while Peters joins United after completing a trial with the team during preseason.

United's La Super Copa, a single elimination full side 11-v-11 invitational soccer tournament, presented by Volkswagen and Cox Communications. The tournament draw will take place on March 30, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. at El Puente de Oro Restaurant in Langley Park, MD, and all local media are welcome to attend.
Washington, D.C. (March 3, 2009) – Through their continued long-term partnership with the leader in local sports television, Comcast SportsNet, D.C. United today announced their regional television schedule for the 2009 Major League Soccer season. As part of its current broadcast agreement with United, Comcast SportsNet is scheduled to air 15 games this season, providing United supporters unsurpassed coverage of the Black-and-Red.
Trip to PA: The D.C. United Academy continued the 2009 season with a trip up to Pennsylvania to face FC Delco and PA Classics. It was another successful weekend for the U18s, who won both games by the score of 2-1, while the U16s struggled to find the same success, losing to FC Delco 1-0 and drawing PA Classics 0-0.
Washington, D.C. (February 27, 2009) – D.C. United announced today the club has signed defender Dejan Jakovic. The 23-year old central defender comes to D.C. via a transfer from Red Star Belgrade of the Serbian First Division. He will be officially available upon receipt of his P-Visa.
“We are excited to have concluded the transfer and signing of Dejan,” said United General Manager Dave Kasper. “He possesses excellent technical abilities and has good size and speed. We look forward to having him join us as we enter our final phase of pre-season.”

United announced today the club will host FC Dallas in a U.S. Open Cup play-in game on April 22 at RFK Stadium, as it begins defense of its 2008 U.S. Open Cup title. The game will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET and serve as Special Game A for half and full season ticket holders. Tickets for the general public will go on sale at a later date.
Washington, D.C. (February 24, 2009) – D.C. United and its charitable arm, United for D.C., announced today the Annual Kick-off Luncheon will take place on Tuesday, March 24 at 12:00 p.m. The seventh annual event is a fundraiser for United’s 501(c)3 foundation and will be held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center at the National Harbor. Fans will have the opportunity to meet the Black-and-Red’s players and coaches while supporting the club’s community initiatives.
Washington, D.C. (February 24, 2009) – D.C. United announced today the club has signed forward Mawate Ange N’Silu. The 23-year-old joins United after a nearly three-week trial. He last played for FC Le Mont, a Swiss team based out of Lausanne. N’Silu will be officially added to the roster upon receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and P-1 Visa.
