United Notebook
The full D.C. United preseason roster was released on Friday. Below, we introduce the seven trialists on the list.
Today, D.C. United travels to Bradenton, Florida for the first part of preseason. The Black-and-Red's newest signing had a bit of trouble with his flight, but Ethan White came to the rescue.

Today United Builds participated in the Greater DC Cares' MLK Day of Service. A group of 15 volunteers, including Lance Rozeboom, from the club spent the day beautifying Jan's Tutoring House. Among other tasks, the volunteers refurbished the library, painted, and cleaned the facility.
D.C. United's draft pick was not in Indianapolis at the SuperDraft, but that does not mean that he wasn't just as nervous and excited for the day. In a Q&A yesterday with dcunited.com the rookie said of his new club, "that was the club that like I always kind of dreamed about joining, and for that to actually happen is, ya know, I cant even really describe how happy I am right now."
A friend of the Colorado native shared the below Tweet after spending draft day with Taylor:
With the combine and SuperDraft coming to a close, the 2013 season feels closer than ever. The team will report to their first training session tomorrow, before departing for Florida this weekend.
Ahead of the start of preseason, rumors continue to circle about Andy Najar and whether he will remain with Anderlecht after his one month loan. But head coach Ben Olsen told MLSsoccer.com that he's "Expecting Andy to be back. That's what I'm preparing for."
With the 17th overall pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft, D.C. United chose a defender out of the University of Maryland. Taylor reacted immediately to the news:

Today, D.C. United's Andy Najar played 90 minutes, in a friendly, for R.S.C. Anderlecht in a 4-2 victory over Dutch side SC Heracles Almelo. Najar is with Anderlecht for a one month loan, and will report back with D.C. United for preseason when his loan is complete.

Well folks, it’s about that time. We’re halfway through D.C. United’s shortest offseason in its history and, coincidentally, exactly two months away from our home opener on Saturday, March 9 against Real Salt Lake. Not only that, but the full-season MLS schedule was just announced today, so there’s plenty to be excited about.
March is sneaking up on us, and we like it.
