In a feature on the Today Show, Jenna Bush, daughter of George W. Bush, is seen holding baby Margaret Laura “Mila” Hager, the newest addition to the Bush family. In an interesting twist, Jenna is also sporting a D.C. United baseball cap. Is the former first daughter a fan of the Black-and-Red?

John Thorrington, a natural leader here at D.C. United, got his professional start at just 17-year-old at Manchester United. The talented midfielder left California to chase his dreams and is now one of the most respected veterans in MLS. But Thorrington is more than the hardworking player we see on the pitch for the Black-and-Red-- he is a family man, as well. Make sure you check out CSN Washington's "Behind the Badge: from Man U to DCU, meet the real John Thorrington."

Goalkeeper Joe Willis has played a big role in D.C. United's run to the U.S. Open Cup final. So big, in fact, that Willis earned Player of the Round honors for his performance in United's 2-0 semifinal victory over the Chicago Fire.

Willis' six saves and late-game composure allowed the Black-and-Red to hand the Fire its first home defeat in Open Cup history. Goals on either side of halftime from Dwayne De Rosario and Nick DeLeon did the damage for D.C., who will be making its fifth appearance in an Open Cup final.

With the honor, Willis joins De Rosario as United's second Player of the Round in this year's competition. He's also the first goalkeeper to win the award since Richmond Kickers' Ronnie Pascale in 2011.

Now, for Willis and DCU, it all comes down to Oct. 1's final against Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium. Squaring off against one of MLS's strongest sides, United will look to carry its good form into the final and win the team's third Open Cup.

Dwayne De Rosario posted the above photo to his instagram today. There are four MLS greats in this picture, and between them, there are 404 MLS goals to date. Hall of Tradition inductee Jaime Moreno has an MLS second-best 133 goals, Black-and-Red Captain Dwayne De Rosario has 103 tallies, DCU forward and Guatemalan standout Carlos Ruiz has recorded 88 goals, while United assistant coach and former MLS and U.S. National Team forward Josh Wolff has found the net 80 times in MLS. Have you ever seen a picture of MLS players, past or present, with more than 404 combined tallies?

On July 3, 2004, D.C. United welcomed the New York Metrostars for another Atlantic Cup showdown at RFK Stadium. With the score tied at one, Jaime Moreno stole the ball from Metrostars goalkeeper Jonny Walker and tucked it away for his fourth goal of the season, and certainly one of the more peculiar strikes of his storied career. The Bolivian went on to supply two assists as the Black-and-Red rolled to a 6-2 win over its rivals. Four months later, Moreno helped United win its fourth MLS Cup with two playoff goals and a 90-minute performance in D.C.'s cup-clinching victory over the Kansas City Wizards.

It was also Moreno's fourth title, merely adding to the front man's impressive collection of silverware. In addition to his MLS Cups, the forward won three Supporter's Shields, a U.S. Open Cup, a CONCACAF Champions' Cup and a Copa Interamericana. The Bolivian also earned five MLS Best XI selections and was named to the League's All-Time Best XI in 2005, cementing his legacy as one of MLS's greatest players. Moreno's goal-scoring record also speaks for itself, as his 133 regular season strikes make him the second-leading scorer in League history.

Even after recieving this all-time honor, Moreno continued to play—and score—for five more seasons. In his last game at RFK Stadium, the forward scored from the penalty spot—his 162nd overall goal in his 425th appearance for the Black-and-Red.

From burning Jonny Walker to scoring United's opener in the 1997 MLS Cup, Moreno has always displayed his class on and off the pitch. During halftime of Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Galaxy, D.C. United will formally induct Moreno into the Hall of Tradition. Buy your tickets here and join us for his special day at RFK Stadium.
