MLSsoccer.com’s Greg Lalas shared his list of the Top 5 greatest Canadian players to play in MLS, and D.C. United clearly takes the cake. Current captain Dwayne De Rosario is Lalas’ number one, known for his ability to find the back of the net often and in the clutch. Pat Onstad came in at number two for his fantastic play in net. Onstad rocked the Black-and-Red in 2011 as a player/coach, then left for Toronto after 2012. Geoff Aunger was named fourth-best Canadian in MLS, who represented DCU from 1998-2001 and helped United clinch the Cup in 1999.

On Saturday night, D.C. United homegrown star Michael Seaton netted his third goal for the Richmond Kickers. Seaton is on loan with the Kickers as part of United's affiliate agreement. The young forward signed a professional contract with DCU in January and has spent time with both the Kickers and D.C. United this season.

Michael Seaton's goal can be seen at the 1:55 mark.

Last week, D.C. United captain Dwayne De Rosario led the team to a 3-1 victory over the Philadelphia Union in the fourth round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup with a hat trick. The victory, which propels the Black-and-Red, to the quarterfinals of the tournament, was a bright spot for the team who has struggled in regular season action. For his effort, DeRo has been recognized by TheCup.US as the Player of the Round.

The acknowledgment comes ahead of the team's quarterfinal match, which is set to be held at the Maryland SoccerPlex on Wednesday, June 26. United hosts the New England Revolution and the match will kickoff at 7:00 p.m. BUY TICKETS

At halftime of tonight's match, D.C. United honored the co-founders of DC Brau, Jeff Hancock and Brandon Skall, as well as Donald Wine for everything they did in making "The Tradition" a reality. Hancock and Skall brewed the beer and collaborated with D.C. United for the "Brand the Brew" contest, while Donald Wine was the contest winner--choosing the name, The Tradition. D.C. United would like to thank DC Brau for its hard work in creating a delicious golden ale and Donald for choosing a name that so perfectly reflects the club.

Dwayne De Rosario has scored 22 of his 101 goals against former MLS teams. The talented veteran has tallied six times against tomorrow’s opponent Toronto FC, with three of those goals courtesy of a hat trick on 8/6/11.

De Rosario found the net four times against Houston, six times against historic rivals New York Red Bulls and six times against the San Jose Earthquakes.

Whatever the reason for De Rosario’s magic touch against his former teams, we can’t wait to see it tomorrow night at RFK! Will you be there?

The Richmond Kickers took on the Harrisburg City Islanders Saturday, May 24th, and D.C. United’s own Andrew Dykstra and Michael Seaton stole the show. Dykstra kept a clean sheet with a stellar nine-save performance, while Seaton notched his second USL PRO goal with a 66th minute finish. Seaton’s goal put the Kickers ahead 2-0.

Ahead of Tuesday’s match up, it seems the Kickers are, as United was, affected by injuries. But the USL PRO side found a way to beat the odds and extend its unbeaten streak to eight games. Dykstra also registered his third shutout of the season. D.C. United faces its USL PRO affiliate Richmond Kickers Tuesday, May 28 at 7 p.m. ET at Richmond City Stadium.
