Countdown to kickoff

In case you haven't heard, there are a few things going on around the League today. Aside from all of the commotion occurring in New Jersey, there could be two designated players on display tonight at RFK Stadium. United confirmed earlier today that newly signed designated player Branko Boskovic received his ITC, along with striker Pablo Hernandez. Both men will be eligible for tonight's contest with Seattle Sounders FC (8:00 p.m. ET/ESPN2).
Meanwhile, the Sounders could be fielding their own newly acquired DP in Blaise Nkufo. The former FC Twente star is coming off of the 2010 World Cup with the Swiss national side. These new additions will add fervor to an already intense rivalry, and fans coming to tonight's match will witness the evolution of this burgeoning derby.
Joining the likes of Barra Brava and Screaming Eagles this evening are members of the Washington Redskins. These select 'Skins players will see an emotional display from United's supporters, as the club announced today that veteran defender Bryan Namoff has suspended his playing career for the 2010 due to post-concussion symptoms. Rumor has it that Barra Brava and Screaming Eagles are planning a tribute for Namoff in the 26th minute of the match, paying homage to the number 26 shirt Namoff has worn for United.
Lastly, United Head Coach Curt Onalfo will appear on CSN's Washington Post Live from RFK Stadium at 5:00 p.m. tonight. Look for Onalfo's segment towards the bottom of the hour. The show will also air again at 11:30 p.m. this evening.
