Athletic Trainer & Strength and Conditioning Coach
Zachary Delgado is entering his 6th season in charge of the Academy teams as a Licensed Athletic Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach. Delgado joined the Academy staff during the 2008-09 season and has had the opportunity since then to contribute to the development of hundreds of players in the injury prevention, rehabilitation, and fitness aspects of their game. During this time, Delgado has also had the opportunity to travel in and outside the country experiencing first hand how the game of soccer is played and coached in different countries.
Delgado is a Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) and an ImPACT Trained Athletic Trainer (ITAT). He has coached fundamental soccer skills to elementary school kids during after-school programs and summer camps from 2002 to 2008 in Montgomery County, MD. He then transferred to play at Salisbury University, but declined to play in order to focus on Athletic Training/Sports Medicine Major.
Delgado is originally from Caracas, Venezuela where his entire family still lives, but calls DC his new home where he lives with his wife Rachael and son Matias.
